We are delighted to announce that our BARC Co-Director Dr. Marjan Javanbakht, has been granted $1.85 million to conduct research on the medicinal use of cannabis among clinical populations in California. This study aims to estimate the prevalence, frequency, and quantity of cannabis use among patients, as well as the reasons for its use and any adverse effects experienced, including disordered use. With the legalization of medicinal cannabis in California, this study will provide valuable insights into its usage patterns and potential impacts on clinical populations. We hope that this research will inform policymakers, healthcare providers, and patients alike, and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices for the safe and effective use of medicinal cannabis.

More updates to come in the coming months.
